The stories of love keep streaming in.

Equity dealer Karen Qiu, now 30, was with her then-boyfriend (and now husband) while they were having dinner at a restaurant on top of the Eiffel Tower.

Then Mr Gary Sim, now 31, did something unexpected: The marketing director dropped on a knee and proposed to her.

Another happy valentine is Mr Lum Yun Hoe, 26, a student.

He was touched by a gesture by his girlfriend, Cheryl, 25, a HR executive. She bought a microwave oven and carried it up a flight of stairs to his home.

"She is very petite, so it touched me a lot that she went through all that effort just to surprise me," Mr Lum said.

These are just some entries we have been receiving as part of the Straits Times Valentine's Day Contest, which was launched today (Feb 6). Readers are asked to share the most romantic thing someone has done for them.

Eight lucky Straits Times readers will walk away with shopping and dining vouchers from British footwear brand Dr Martens and home-grown restaurant TungLok Seafood worth $2,000 in total, courtesy of our partner Orchard Central.

Valentine's Day this year is a special one, as it falls on the same day as chap goh mei, the 15th day of Chinese New Year.

Chap goh mei is also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong recently referred to the coinciding of the days as shuang chun or "double spring".

So hurry, share with us your story in 50 words or less, and you just might see your entry on the microsite at http://www.straitstimes.com/valentines-day-2014.
