US trade embargo case: Only two S’poreans will be extradited
Two of the four Singaporeans accused of breaching a United States (US) trade embargo against Iran will not be extradited to the US.
The US authorities had alleged that the four conspired to smuggle electronic components from US companies to Iran, which then ended up in explosives in Iraq.
The High Court on Wednesday allowed the appeal of Ms Wong Yuh Lan, 39, and Mr Lim Yong Nam, 38, as it found that the wrongdoing they were accused of by the US authorities was not an offence here.
