Two charged with theft of Indian star tortoise from museum

Two men were charged in court on Thursday with stealing a $2,000 Indian star tortoise from the Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum.

Ang Rui Long, 25, and Ng Pang Heng, 42, allegedly stole the endangered tortoise at the Chinese Garden Road museum on Oct 12.

Both men are out on police bail and will be back in court on Nov 7.

If convicted, each of them faces a jail term of up to three years and/or a fine.
