Two accused in Sheng Siong kidnap case remanded for psychiatric assessment

The two men who were allegedly involved in the Sheng Siong kidnap case have been remanded for psychiatric evaluation.
Odd-job worker Lee Sze Yong, 41, and credit card promoter Heng Chen Boon, 50, will be assessed at the Complex Medical Centre in Changi. They will next appear in court on Feb 14.
Lee allegedly abducted Madam Ng Lye Poh, 79, the mother of Sheng Siong supermarket boss Lim Hock Chee, along Hougang Avenue 2 with the intent to hold her for ransom on the morning of Jan 8.
Heng is said to have helped Lee confine her in a vehicle near Sembawang Park between 8.30pm and midnight that day.
