Three Colombians charged with Yunnan Crescent burglary

Three Colombian men were charged on Thursday with housebreaking and theft of cash and property totalling about $360,000.

Never Daniel Catano Ramirez, 28, Juan Pablo Lombana Gomez, 26, and Cristian Albeiro Becerra Valencia, 26, are alleged to have broken into a house at Yunnan Crescent and taken about $320,000, US$30,000 ($37,500) and $2,000 worth of gold jewellery from Mr Ong Choon Chai, 50, on Monday evening.

The items were found missing from a safe and a locked drawer at the house in Jurong West.

All three were remanded for a week at Jurong police division for further investigation. They will appear in court again on March 21. If convicted, they could be jailed between two and 14 years.
