Third man in Central Square assault jailed
A THIRD man involved in the Central Square carpark assault which led to a full-time national serviceman later dying of head injuries, was jailed on Friday.
Poh Chong Heng, 28, originally accused of Mr Chen Zixuan's murder while being part of an unlawful assembly, was sentenced to 31/2 years' jail and six strokes of the cane on amended charges of causing grievous hurt and causing hurt.
Poh, a small trader, had admitted to punching and kicking Mr Chen's cousin, Mr Matthew Li, 24, at the Havelock Road carpark on Dec 3 last year.
Two of his three accomplices, Mr Desmond Neo Han Wen, 24, and Mr Lee Boon Leong, 23, have been dealt with. A fourth man's case is pending.
