Teen admits to having sex with minors and helping a loanshark

A teen breached a 12-month conditional stern warning by committing similar offences of having sex with a minor. Muhammad Nor Aszroy Zaidon, 16, who faced nine charges, admitted to three charges of having sex with underage girls and a charge of assisting in unlicensed moneylending.

A Community Court heard that he became acquainted with his victims, aged between 12 and 14, on social networking website, Facebook. They chatted and exchanged contact details. He eventually asked them to be his girlfriends without having met each of them in real life. When they met, he would take the girl to a staircase landing for sex.

He was given the 12-month conditional stern warning in May last year for having sex with a 12-year-old girl at a staircase landing in Clementi in October 2011.

Two months later, he had sex with a 13-year-old student at a staircase landing of his block in Teck Whye Lane. Then in August last year, Aszroy looked up a 14-year-old girl he had broken up earlier and said he missed her. He invited the girl over to his home and had sex with her on a staircase landing.

In the moneylending case, the court heard that his sister's mother-in-law who was working as a runner for an unlicensed moneylender asked if he wanted to earn some money.

He agreed. Aszroy then opened a savings bank account and handed over the ATM card and PIN to his sister's mother-in-law. The ATM card was used by the loanshark to collect repayments and disburse loans from June 20 to July 10 last year. Aszroy was paid a total of $300.

Sentencing was postponed to July 24 for pre-sentence and reformative training reports.
