THE National Taxi Association has banded together with the Health Promotion Board to improve the health of taxi drivers.

Both organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Sunday to bring the Board's workplace health programs to cabbies.

On-site health screenings were conducted at a road show at Yio Chu Kang community centre for taxi drivers, who were also given stretch bands to encourage them to do simple stretching exercises.

Under the collaboration, dedicated health corners have been set up at six taxi service centres so cabbies can check their blood pressure and Body Mass Index while their vehicles are being serviced.
