Former presidential candidate Tan Jee Say said on Friday he would not be using an Orchard Road building to hold discussions on national policies, although the company renting it had paid the rental arrears.

Chanson F&B, which has been renting the three-storey building from the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) since 2011, settled the rent on Thursday, the SLA said on Friday.

The SLA had set Friday as the deadline after Chanson failed to pay the rent for June and July.

The company is half-owned by Mr Tan's wife, Patricia.
