Visitors and shoppers on Orchard Road can, for the first time, take home a piece of the street's annual Christmas light-up, which is back for its 29th year.

The Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) said on Thursday, that people will be able to buy the event's merchandise such as tote bags and T-shirts from this Saturday when President Tony Tan Keng Yam officiates the light-up during a ceremony at 7pm outside Ion Orchard.

The tote bags and T-shirts - designed by Lasalle College of the Arts students - and other merchandise will be available at gift shops in front of Tang Plaza and Ngee Ann City.

This year's light-up, themed Christmas On A Great Street, consists of three zones, each with its own motif: Tree For Joy at the Tanglin zone, Heart For Love at the Orchard zone, and Dove For Peace at the Somerset zone.
