Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Minister for National Development encouraged Singaporeans to support local fish farms by buying fish that are reared here.

He said in his blog Housing Matter on Monday that fish farmed locally are branded "SG Fish" and are available at supermarkets.

The fish include locally popular species, such as the Asian Seabass, Pompano and Tilapia.

"Our target is to raise the market share of SG Fish to 15 per cent, from today's per cent. This should not be too difficult. With your help, of course!" said Mr Khaw.
