The Straits Times launched a brand-new website on Asia at the start of its Global Outlook Forum.
The ST Asia Report website - http://www.stasiareport.com - featuring news reports, analyses and commentaries by ST's worldwide network of correspondents and contributors - was officially launched by ST editor Warren Fernandez on Friday at the forum, held at the Mandarin Orchard Hotel.
The half-day seminar was organised by the Straits Times and presented by Standard Chartered Bank.
Said Mr Fernandez: "The ST Asia Report website brings in all our Asian content together, so anyone who has an interest in the region has a one-stop site to go to. We hope our readers will find it a rich source of content."
Ambassador-at-Large Tommy Koh was the guest of honour and keynote speaker for the ST Global Outlook forum, while Nominated MP Nicholas Fang was the moderator. At the event, United States bureau chief Chua Chin Hon and China bureau chief Peh Shing Huei offered their insights on the recent leadership transitions in their respective countries while Europe correspondent Jonathan Eyal gave his take on which countries in the troubled European Union to keep an eye on in the year ahead.
ST news editor Ignatius Low offered his outlook for Singapore's economy in the coming year, while Standard Chartered's head of Greater China research Stephen Green and the bank's chief investment strategist of the wealth management division, Mr Steve Brice, presented their views on the global investment outlook.
