Smartphone app for SingHealth nurses to increase job efficiency
SingHealth has launched a new smartphone application to help nurses work more efficiently.
Called SingHealth Nurses Pal, the application provides information on the appropriate treatment of pressure ulcers and a list strategies on how to prevent falls among patients among other things. This saves nurses the time it takes them to go to a shared computer or refer to print outs when faced with such scenarios.
Calculators in the application also show the likelihood of a patient falling based on the patient's conditions, and a drip rate calculator alerts nurses with an alarm when a patient requires their next dosage.
Minister for Health Mr Gan Kim Yong launched the application in conjunction with Nurses' Day celebrations at Singapore General Hospital on Tuesday. "[Nurses] often need to make clinical decisions to ensure that patients receive appropriate and timely care interventions," said SingHealth group director of Nursing, Dr Tracy Carol Ayre.
