SingTel has posted a 1.6 per cent drop in second quarter net profit to $867.7 million. Revenue for the three months ended Sept 30 inched down by 0.8 per cent to $4.57 billion.

Excluding exceptional items, underlying net profit was stable at $886 million.

The telco described the results as resilient performance across the group despite the impact of weaker regional currencies.

They were underpinned by strong operating performance from Singapore and the regional mobile associates.
