Singapore's Ilo Ilo scores 6 Golden Horse nods, The Grandmaster leads the race with 11
Taipei - Singaporean director Anthony Chen's Cannes award-winning child-rearing drama Ilo Ilo has snagged six Golden Horse nominations in the top contest for Chinese-language cinema, it was announced today.
It is in the race for the top prize, Best Feature Film, with movies including Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai's martial arts saga The Grandmaster, which leads with 11 nominations.
Ilo Ilo is also in the running for Best New Director and Best Screenplay for Chen, Best Supporting Actor for Chen Tianwen, Best Supporting Actress for Yeo Yann Yann and Best New Performer for child actor Koh Jia Ler.
The other Best Feature Film nominees are Chinese director Jia Zhangke's A Touch Of Sin, Malaysian director Tsai Ming-liang's Stray Dogs and Hong Kong director Johnnie To's Drug War.
