Singaporean student gets her shot at K-pop stardom

A Singaporean student and an Indonesian-Chinese events organiser have been chosen at Sunday's auditions for tvN K-Pop Star Hunt, for the chance to become K-pop stars in South Korea.
Winner Anthea Wang, 16, who is a secondary four student, and runner-up Rendy Lauwady, 20, an events organiser who flew to Singapore for the auditions, emerged the top two from the Singapore leg of the reality talent show, tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2, which will premiere on Nov 24 on tvN (StarHub Channel 824).
They will compete with other contestants from places such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand in South Korea, where they will receive professional training from companies such as CJ E·and Cube Entertainment.
The winner will receive the chance to release an album and make a debut stage appearance on awards show Mnet Asian Music Awards 2013.
