Singapore anglers are getting hooked on offshore fishing
Keen angler Mr Eddie Lim, 37, never knows what he will reel up when he goes fishing out at sea. He has snared his fair share of seaweed, rocks and coral.
But the part-time teacher has also landed The One That Didn't Get Away - a 4-5kg garoupa caught near the Southern Islands - his best catch since getting hooked on offshore fishing in July last year.
Mr Lim was on a trip organised by fishing company E-waves Fishbyte. And more anglers here like Mr Lim are venturing out to sea on fishing trips that last from a day to four days.
E-waves Fishbyte, which is also a fishing tackle business, organises at least one trip to the Southern Islands every week, compared to around two trips a month three years ago.
