Singa the Courtesy Lion: 'I quit'

After more than 30 years on the job, one of Singapore's best-known campaign mascots has apparently tendered his resignation.
In an open letter to Singapore posted on the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) website on Wednesday, Singa the Lion wrote: "I quit. I need a long break, and you could probably use a break from me too. No one likes being nagged at, even if it's about being kind and gracious."
"I suppose it's time for real people to step up and for the mascot to step aside."
The letter came just days after the SKM announced that Singa was venturing into cyberspace.
