Share information to fight cyber threats: Minister

To counter increasingly dangerous online threats, companies here need to cooperate and share information on their security breaches, rather than stay silent.
Such collaboration is necessary because cyberattacks are now more difficult to fend off and the consequences are dire if they succeed, Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli said on Tuesday.
To this end, the Singapore Infocomm Technology Security Authority, a unit of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), will be organising information exchange sessions for the different industries to encourage companies to share information on cybersecurity breaches anonymously.
"Knowledge and collaboration can enhance our capacity to prevent, detect and respond to threats," said Mr Masagos at the 21st annual GovernmentWare Seminar, a cybersecurity conference organised by the MHA and the Civil Service College.
