The Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (Score) has appointed a new chairman to replace Mr Kong Mun Kwong, who stepped down after 16 years of service since his appointment in 1996.

Mr Chng Hwee Hong, who was the chairman of Score Training Committee since April 2010, was appointed on Sept 1.

A Home Affairs Ministry statement on Tuesday morning said that he played "a pivotal role in enhancing the programmes geared towards the upgrading of offenders' vocational and employability skills".

Mr Chng also headed Score's Strategic Planning Sub-committee on Rehabilitation which was part of Score's Strategic Planning Committee set up in 2010 to map out Score's key strategies for the next five to 10 years.
