Runner's death due to undiagnosed heart condition
A Singapore Management University student who collapsed after completing a half marathon last December had an abnormal coronary artery which was previously undetected, a coroner's court heard on Thursday.
Mr Malcolm Sng Wei Ren's death from acute coronary insufficiency was due to a natural disease process.
Patients with the condition may display no symptoms.
The 22-year-old's army medical records did not show any severe underlying problems nor did he have a family history suggestive of any cardiac condition.
