The signalling fault discovered at 2.45pm on Friday on the North-East Line (NEL) has been fixed. But repairs for the power fault will commence after all train services end on Friday.

At 5.48pm on Friday, SBS Transit announced on its Twitter feed that the evening rush hour train frequency would be 7.5 to 8 minutes. The Punggol to Harbour Front train journey would take an estimated 33-35 minutes.

Goodwill ambassadors have been deployed at stations that are expected to be more crowded, such as Harbourfront and Dhoby Ghaut.

As of 5.30 pm at Harbourfront station, train services were running at intervals of 7.5 minutes. Several goodwill ambassadors were redirecting people to free shuttle bus services.
