Three stray cats were reported missing in Punggol between December last year and Jan 21, leading the authorities to suspect foul play.

The trio were suspected to have been removed from Punggol Drive Block 633B, said the Cat Welfare Society on its Facebook page Friday. It is appealing to the public for more information.

The first to have gone missing was a male ginger cat, which had not been seen since Dec 17 last year. More recently, a female grey cat was reported missing from the same area last Monday between 7 and 8am.

It added that animal cruelty is a crime. Under the Animals and Birds Act, anyone convicted of animal cruelty can be fined up to $10,000 and may be jailed for up to 12 months.
