President Tony Tan Keng Yam was the guest of honour at the inaugural S-One Expo, a month long event featuring trade and cultural highlights from regions in Germany.

The month-long expo, which started on Nov 6, aims to foster trade and cooperation between companies in the German state of Baden-Wülrttemberg and companies in Singapore.

In the spirit of giving back to local communities, Mr Wolfgang Jeglitza, chairman of the advisory board to Stuttgart Singapore, presented Dr Tan with a cheque for $300,000 as a donation to the beneficiaries of the President's Challenge.

"Over the years, the President's Challenge has become a powerful rallying call. It has provided a convenient avenue for everyone to be active in charitable causes," said Mr Jeglitza.
