SMRT has deployed free bus services to ferry commuters between Woodlands and Yew Tee train stations along the North-South line, after it detected a power fault on Saturday.
The rail operator posted on Twitter saying that it was alerted to a "traction power loss" between the stations at 12.30pm and had deployed its engineers to investigate and rectify the situation.
Commuters were seen earlier walking along the elevated tracks toward Kranji station from a stalled train while several Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers were also spotted responding to an incident on the tracks.
The SCDF told The Straits Times that an ambulance and a fire engine have been dispatched to the scene after it was alerted at about 12.40pm. But no casualties have been reported so far.
