Potential goldsmith shop robbers' plans thwarted by police
The police arrested a 26 year-old man and his 16-year old accomplice for planning to commit a series of goldsmith robberies, earlier on Tuesday.
They were caught after attempting to escape a routine car inspection by an enforcement officer from the Land Transport Authority.
At about 7pm on Monday, the officers stopped their car along Kallang Road, but the driver sped off, and a pursuit followed.
The car was later found abandoned along North Bridge Road, with a bag containing balaclavas, hammers, several pairs of gloves and baseball caps.
