Police nab nine men in two gambling den busts

Police have arrested nine men in two separate operations against illegal gambling dens.

In the first bust, officers arrested two men, aged 43 and 53, on Wednesday for allegedly gaming and managing an illegal gambling den in a Geylang shophouse.

Twenty-one modified computers and about $160 in cash were seized during the four-hour raid.

In the second operation, officers raided a flat at Tah Ching Road and arrested seven men aged between 17 and 50 in connection with operating and gambling in an illegal gambling den. Nine computers, two modems, one switch box and cash amounting to $1,600 were seized during the raid.
