Police cameras help in the arrest of housebreaking duo

Police have apprehended two males, aged 17 and 21, for alleged housebreaking and theft at a senior citizen's corner at Holland Avenue.

On Feb 8, police received a report that items including an electrical balloon blower, food and beverages, valued at about $400, were missing from the premises.

With the aid of footage from police cameras mounted in the vicinity, officers from Clementi Police Division managed to arrest both suspects on Monday.

The offence of housebreaking and theft by night carries a maximum punishment of 14 years in jail.
