Police arrest 60-year-old snatch thief who targets elderly women

Police have arrested a 60-year-old man who is believed to have committed several cases of snatch theft in Bukit Panjang.
Four such cases were reported between last October and January this year, said a police statement on Thursday. The victims were all elderly women who had their valuables snatched by a suspect with similar descriptions.
After extensive investigations, police arrested the suspect near Fajar Road on Wednesday at 12.30pm. The offence is punishable by caning and a jail term of up to seven years.
