The numbers of wild boar at Lower Peirce are getting destructively out of hand, and the National Parks Board has had to make a controversial decision to cull them.
It has finally decided on a method: round them up then have vets sedate them by dart gun and euthanise them.
But the creatures are native to Singapore and have coexisted with human settlements in the past, as have other medium-sized mammals like sambar deer.
