Four employees from Sembcorp’s Singapore office braved the elements of cold winds at night and temperatures up to 50 deg C in the day - all in the name of raising funds for charity.
They ran a 250km ultra marathon across the Great Kalahari Desert in South Africa for seven days, from Oct 27 to Nov 2. They returned from Cape Town to Singapore last Thursday morning, Nov 8.
They covered distances of between 24km and 79km each day while carrying 15kg backpacks of supplies. The route involved different terrain, from sand dunes and riverbeds, to vineyards.
