Orchard Road businesses' wish list

Group wants more leisure elements such as event spaces and park for shopping belt

The Orchard Road Business Association (Orba) aims to widen the area's emphasis beyond shopping, by including more leisure components.

Regular closure of a 600m stretch of Orchard Road is also included in its proposals for Singapore's premier shopping street.

To this end, Orba is finalising a long-term proposal called Orchard Road 2020.

The association's intention is to strengthen the area's branding and to offer a variety of experiences on the street.
