NTUC FairPrice donates $300,000 to The Straits Times SPMF

The NTUC FairPrice Foundation on Saturday, donated $300,000 to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF).
The fund, started by the national broadsheet, supports about 10,000 needy children each year with school-related expenses.
NTUC FairPrice Foundation chairman Ng Ser Miang, who presented the $300,000 cheque to Singapore Press Holdings chairman Dr Lee Boon Yang at an event this morning said: "The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund has been helping many children from low income households with financial support.
"And we are glad to be able to play our part by contributing towards this cause and to the Fund, so that these children can direct their efforts to studying and enjoying their school activities without having to worry about going hungry or be distracted by financial issues."
