Second Solicitor-General Lionel Yee appointed Judicial Commissioner

Second Solicitor-General Lionel Yee has been appointed Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement on Tuesday.
The appointment takes effect from February and will last a year. Mr Yee, 46, is currently the third highest-ranking officer at the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) in his role as Second Solicitor-General, which he has held since Jan 2011. More recently on Jan 4, he was appointed Senior Counsel.
He was previously director-general of the AGC's International Affairs Division and received the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2001 and Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2008.
Mr Yee also led the AGC team that represented the State at the Committee of Inquiry hearings into the disruption of MRT train services in December 2011.
