The building of a first-of-its-kind healthcare facility in Singapore, which is focused on rehabilitation for patients started today.

Changi General Hospital (CGH) and St. Andrew's Community Hospital's (SACH) Integrated Building, when completed by end-2014, will be a hospital with a home-like environment.

The aim of this is to rehabilitate patients recovering from surgery, injury, or illness, as early as possible, and to make the transition back home easy.

Attending the new integrated building's groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday was Health Minister Gan Kim Yong.
