Volunteers and social workers in the South West District can now more quickly refer residents to the social service organisation in the best position to help them.

They can use the South West Cares Referral Guide, which lists all social service organisations within the district.

The guide, produced by the South West Community Development Council, also lists types of help available and a step-by-step procedure to match residents to the right type of help they have asked for.

This is to ensure that various help agencies and volunteers helping the needy can "close the loop" with each other and residents can get help more quickly, said the South-West district's Mayor, Amy Khor at the launch of the guide on Monday.
