New express bus service from Jurong West to CBD

Commuters travelling between Jurong West and the central business district during peak periods will now be served by a new City Direct bus service.
The service, which will be handled by a private operator other than incumbent giants SBS Transit and SMRT, will roll out in the third quarter of next year (2013).
It is the fourth additional service to come under the publicly-funded $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), but the first involving a non-traditional operator.
The Land Transport Authority said it is now putting out a tender for a fare system for the City Direct buses. The operator, number of buses and exact route have not been determined.
