New, enhanced subsidies will soon become available for those who want to pursue part-time diploma courses, announced the Ministry of Education (MOE).

Starting October 1, citizens and permanent residents will be eligible for subsidies of 70 per cent and 60 per cent, respectively, for such courses.

Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the Tampines Learning Festival on Saturday, Minister of Education Heng Swee Keat said this initiative was part of the MOE's efforts to enhance Continuing Education and Training (CET) opportunities.

"It's important to see learning as a lifelong journey and we should create many opportunities for Singaporeans to continue learning," said Mr Heng.
