New character education syllabus from 2014 for Pri & Sec schools

From 2014, all primary and secondary schools will teach a new Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) curriculum.

It will tap on students' daily experiences, such as taking public transport, to teach values.

The curriculum will also have a new focus on family involvement, such as facilitating activities for students to reflect and commit to an act at home or in the community, to deepen their learning.

To make it more relevant to students, part of the syllabus will be designed by individual schools, which can then use curriculum or assembly time for CCE programmes.
