Willie Tan to take over from Lim Soo Ping as Auditor-General on Feb 8

Mr Willie Tan Yoke Meng, 57, Deputy Secretary (Administration) for the Defence Ministry will take up his new position on Feb 8 as Auditor-General.

Current Auditor-General Lim Soo Ping, 62, is retiring after 37 years of service in the public sector, including six years spent as Auditor-General. He was recognised for his work as a public servant with the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 1987 and the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1991.

Mr Tan was the former chief executive of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, he joined the Defence Ministry (Mindef) as Deputy Secretary (Administration).
