TWO walls along the Rail Corridor have been set aside for street artists by the authorities.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority said in a press statement on Monday that it had partnered the National Arts Council (NAC) to create the art space beneath the Commonwealth Avenue viaduct structure along the corridor.
Said NAC director of arts and youth Kenneth Kwok: "Street artists and their work are an exciting part of Singapore's diverse and vibrant arts scene. We hope that by facilitating dedicated art spaces like the one along the Rail Corridor, street artists can have the physical and artistic room to express themselves."
RSCLS, an urban art collective and recipient of an NAC grant, will be curating the space next year.
