More than 300 cyclists take part in safe cycling event

More than 300 Yuhua cyclists joined a mass cycling event on Sunday morning to promote safe cycling, pedalling 36 kilometres from Jurong East to Labrador Park and back.

Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Yuhua grassroots adviser Grace Fu flagged off the cyclists, and also hopped on a bike to join in herself.

The annual event, in its 14th year, has been steadily drawing more participants over the years as more residents take to bicycles as a mode of transport.

It is organised as a way to bring together enthusiasts young and old from all over the constituency to cycle together.

Nearby Taman Jurong precinct will have a cycling path network built by 2015, as part of government plans announced in October to build more such networks across the island.
