The Migrant Workers' Centre (MWC) has said that it will help workers of the Jurong Shipyard accident if their employer is not able to.

In a statement today, it said it is in touch with the Manpower Ministry about providing assistance to the injured foreign workers and had sent a team to visit some of them at the hospital yesterday.

"MWC would like to assure the workers that help is available, if employers are unable or unwilling to do so, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely," said the statement.

MWC is a bipartite effort between the National Trades Union Congress and the Singapore National Employers Federation to improve the welfare of migrant workers in Singapore.
