A man has been arrested by the police for housebreaking and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means at a flat in Yishun, the authorities said in a media statement on Sunday afternoon.

The police said that they received information at about 6am on Saturday of a man breaking into the house and using a knife to slash both his wife and brother-in-law.

The suspect, 42, fled the scene of crime following the assault, leaving behind a knife. It was seized as a case exhibit.

Within 18 hours, investigation officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division, located the suspect and arrested him in the Telok Blangah area.
