Man jailed for hitting a cabby has jail term cut to five days
Judge notes action due to 'silly quarrel', man not badly hurt
A company director, initially sentenced to a month's jail for hitting a taxi driver with a steel rod, has had his jail term cut to five days on appeal.
Zhai Lu, 42, a Chinese national, boarded the taxi driven by 60-year-old Mr Teo Siang Toh in May 2010.
He placed some metal rods and bars he was carrying in the boot.
Things got off to a bad start when Zhai could not clearly state where he wanted to go.
