Man arrested for stealing handphone at beach in Sentosa

Buy SPH photosTHE police have arrested a 42-year-old man who is believed to have stolen a handphone at Palawan Beach in Sentosa.
On Saturday evening, a beachgoer had seen the man removing an item from a bag placed at a shelter near the beach. After alerting a fellow beachgoer, both of them confronted the man, who was found holding on to a mobile phone.
By then, the owner of the bag, a 15-year-old boy, had returned and confirmed that the mobile phone belonged to him.
The police were called in and the man was subsequently arrested.
