Man arrested for series of thefts on MRT trains

Police have arrested a 30 year-old man who is believed to have committed a series of thefts on MRT trains.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect could be involved in at least five similar cases.
The man was arrested at Kallang MRT station on Dec 26 at about 11.30am, following an operation by officers from Bedok Police Division, Central Police Division and Public Transport Security Command. He had alighted from a train and was observed to be behaving suspiciously.
The suspect was found with a wallet, two credit cards and some personal identification documents belonging to a woman. Investigations reveal that the owner of the wallet had boarded a train at Kallang MRT station on the same day at about 7.45am. She discovered that her wallet missing from her handbag when she reached her office at Marina Bay Financial Centre.
