Man arrested for allegedly vandalising 23 cars; suspected case of loanshark harassment

Police arrested a 36-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of loanshark harassment on Monday.

The suspect allegedly vandalised 23 cars parked at Block 165 Bishan Street 13. Police received a call at about 6.22am and within six hours, the man was arrested around Geylang Bahru.

He is believed to be involved in similar cases islandwide following investigations.

First-time offenders found guilty of any acts of loanshark harassment may be jailed up to five years and fined between $5,000 and $50,000. Male offenders may also be caned.
