IT will be a low-key affair when Prince William and Catherine Middleton visit Queenstown next week.

Checks with grassroots leaders of Strathmore Green found that they will not be stringing up special decorations like Union Jack bunting, nor lining corridors with flag-waving residents.

Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be greeted by a small group of official representatives and residents and taken on a quick tour of the estate. The reason? They want to present an authentic slice of HDB life to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“The main thing is to showcase natural housing estate living,” said Mr Patrick Mah, chairman of the Delta RC, which is working with the People’s Association (PA) and Housing Development Board (HDB) to organise the programme.
