The LionsXII notched their first Malaysia Cup victory, comfortably beating PKNS 3-1 at Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday evening.

The result moves the Singapore outfit to the top of Group A with four points from two matches.

PKNS had taken a shock lead through Fazli Baharudin after seven minutes.

But first-half strikes from Khairul Amri and Shaiful Esah, who curled in a splendid free-kick from 25m out, sent the hosts on their way. Captain Shahril Ishak's tap-in added gloss to the scoreline after the break.
